Clifford Hemphill

Luginbuel Funeral Home Vinita, 918-256-5555........Clifford L. Hemphill went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 5, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital in Vinita, after a brief illness. He was born on March 14, 1932 in Vinita to Fenton Hemphill and Anna Mae (Brown) Hemphill. Clifford was raised in Vinita and attended Vinita schools. In 1952, he joined the U.S. Army and served his country in the Korean War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vinita. Clifford met and married the love of his life, Glenda Spaulding, on March 21, 1955. He was employed by the Pryor Steel Foundry until his retirement. Clifford was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, nature, and spending time with his family.
Clifford was preceded in death by his mother, father, and two brothers, Kenneth Hemphill and Gene Hemphill.
Survivors include his wife Glenda (Spaulding) Hemphill of the home; daughter Patricia Hemphill of Quapaw, OK; son Larry Hemphill and wife Ofelia of Elmore City, OK; daughter Susan Wagoner of Vinita; grandsons Jesse Hemphill and wife Emily, Evan Wagoner; granddaughter, Rori Woody; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Carolyn Conlin and Bill Hargrove, of Chelsea, Oklahoma.
Services will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Skip McClain officiating. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery, Vinita, OK with military rites.
