David R. Coleman, age 84 and longtime resident of rural Bartlesville, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at his home.

David Richard Coleman was born on January 19, 1934 in Bartlesville. He was the son of Robert Lee Coleman and Juanita Jane (Ketchum) Coleman.

David attended Bartlesville High School and after that, he became an Electrical Contractor. He worked for Ward Electric Motor. Later he bought Ward Electric Motor and he renamed it Coleman Electric. For a short time, he owned his own truck and was an over-the-road driver.

He and Joann Bailey married on December 29, 1953 in Bartlesville. He had lived in the Bartlesville area all his life. He and Joann had two daughters, Cheryl and Nancy. David loved his family and racing stock cars. He and Joann shared a love for travel which they did extensively.

David is survived by his wife, Joann, of the family home; daughter, Cheryl Johnson and her husband, Andy, of Dewey; daughter, Nancy Clopp and her husband, John, of Bartlesville; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim Coleman; and sister, Barbara Allen.
Come and go visitation for David will be held Thursday, until 7:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave.

Graveside services for Mr. Coleman will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, at Memorial Park Cemetery.
