Eddie Dale Larkin passed away on May 26, 2026, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Eddie was born on October 26, 1946, in Abilene, Texas, to Edgar Ralph and Fredah LaDale Swindle Larkin. Eddie was known as a gentle and honest man by those who knew him as well as for his unwavering authenticity and steadfast commitment to being true to himself throughout his life.
Eddie proudly served in the United States Army from May 6, 1965, to May 3, 1968. He was a member of the famed 82nd Airborne Division; he carried his military experience with honor and pride, reflecting a deep dedication to his country. After his military service, Eddie worked in the family well drilling business for a time. After that time, Eddie often worked as a surveyor and contributed to the surveying of the Lakemont area.
An avid fisherman, Eddie found tranquility in his pastime, embracing the peacefulness of the outdoors. His personality was marked by an independent spirit and he spent as much time as he could as an outdoorsman. When he wasn’t outside he was spending his time watching westerns.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Ray Larkin and sisters Ruth Spears and Sue Ann Stelle; and his son Eddie Dwayne Larkin.
Eddie is survived by family who cherish his memory, including his sister-in-law Gladys Larkin, brother-in-law Don Stelle, nephew Ron Larkin, and nieces Sheila Kornblum and Dawn Holt, among other extended relatives.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2026 at the Worley Luginbuel Jay Chapel. Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2026 at Southwest City Cemetery.
