Johnny David Leach

February 13, 1955 — August 23, 2024

Jay, OK

Johnny David Leach, age 69, passed away peacefully in Grove, OK on Friday, August 23, 2024. He was surrounded by his family after an almost four-year battle with cancer.

John is best known for his kind heart and his love for his family. He enjoyed reading, fishing, adventurous road trips with his grandsons, and helping others. He also enjoyed a great conversation and never met a stranger. John was the most optimistic person you ever met. Most of the people in his life wouldn’t be who they are today if it wasn’t for his words of wisdom and guidance that he provided. He was respected and will be forever missed and loved by all.

He is survived by his three daughters Sherry Leach, Cindy Kennedy, and Melanie Houchin, 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, sisters Sue and Barbara, brothers Marshal and Charles and many other extended family and friends. John is preceded in death by his mother Beatrice, father Levi Leach, wife Vickie, sister Sharon, brothers Neil, Carl, and Jimmie, two daughters Kristi Mayes and Amanda Ballinger and one granddaughter Maddison Mayes.

A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM, Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Ross-Mayes Cemetery in Salina, Oklahoma.
