Leona Francis Hogue, 74, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 21, 2019. Leona was born in Nowata on August 23, 1944 to Leo C. Dick and Nettie Francis (Lemmons) Dick. She went to Nowata Public School where she received her education. She waitressed and cleaned houses for a living in the mid 1960's before moving to Plainfield, IL. Leona was employed with Caterpillar Tractor Company as a heavy machinery operator for ten years. After living in Plainfield, IL, for eleven year she decided to move to Plano, IL, and became a police officer in 1967 thru 1970 in Plainfield, IL. On February 18, 1977 in Plano, IL, she met the love of her life William "Bill" Hogue and was united in marriage. In 2004 her and her husband moved back to Nowata. She was a former member of Chapter 145 of UAW, the 1st Church of Nazarene in Nowata. Leona was a woman of many talents and could do anything that her mind was set to. She was a very crafty lady and enjoyed cooking, trying new recipes, gardening, bowling, crossword puzzles, and board games. Leona is one of a kind and had a heart of gold that loved her family, friends unconditionally and will be missed by all who knew her.

Leona is survived by her husband William "Bill" Hogue of the home, six children: David Lee of Elizabethton, TN, Sherri Roll and husband David of Marseilles, IL, John Barnes of Plano, IL, Gaile Hogue of Aurora, IL, Wayne Hogue and wife Julie of Marseilles, Il, Paul Hogue and wife Jo of Marseilles, IL; three siblings: Joe Dick of South Coffeyville , Ok, John Dick and wife Becky of Bartlesville, Ok and Lillian Crisp of Nowata, Ok; thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Leona is proceeded in death by her parents Leo C. Dick and Nettie Francis (Lemmons) Dick and seven siblings: Donald Dick, Charles Dick, Paul Dick, Velma Harvey, Margaret Smith, Ruth Hill, and Nadine Sue Dick
