Lewis Milo Sixkiller, age 98, born December 14, 1927, in Jay, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, in Bella Vista, Arkansas. He lived a rich and fulfilling life defined by his deep devotion to family and his many years of dedicated service as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service.

Lewis proudly served his country in the military, a reflection of his strong sense of duty and commitment to his community. He approached life with enthusiasm and curiosity, enjoying a wide range of interests. An avid horse lover, Lewis also enjoyed spending time at the pool hall, where he valued both the game and the companionship it offered. An outdoorsman at heart, he found great joy in hunting and exploring nature. His adventurous spirit carried him beyond his hometown as well, as he loved traveling and experiencing new places.

Above all else, Lewis was a devoted family man. He is survived by his son, David Sixkiller, and his wife, Scheila. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Tracy, Jarrett, Cheryl, Curtis, Trevor, Cynithia, Ashley, and Levi, numerous great and great, great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his brothers Glenn Sixkiller and Carl Sixkiller and his sister Hazel Dean Riggs.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Jinnie (Alspall) Sixkiller, his beloved wife, Donna Sixkiller; his sons, Kenneth and Terry Sixkiller, and his sister Ruby Sixkiller. 

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma. A funeral service celebrating Lewis’s life will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Jay, Oklahoma. Lewis will be laid to rest in the New Eucha Cemetery.
