Robert Neal “Bob” Sites passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, in Grove, Oklahoma. He was born on July 6, 1949, in Wichita, Kansas, to Herb and Lila Sites
Bob was raised in Des Moines, Iowa, before making his way to Oklahoma in 1982. He was a hardworking man who believed in staying busy and lending a helping hand whenever someone needed it. After moving to Oklahoma, Bob worked alongside Bruce Poindexter in the asphalt business before beginning a 20-year career with County District No. 1. His strong work ethic extended well beyond his regular job, as he often spent his weekends working on projects and helping family and friends.
For over 30 years, Bob shared his life with Mary Stewart. During their many years together, he developed a deep love for her children and grandchildren, whom he considered his own family. He especially cherished his close bond with Brody, who was not only his grandson but also his best buddy.
One of Bob's greatest passions was his 1957 Chevy pickup. Alongside Mark and Danny, he lovingly rebuilt the truck from the frame up, creating something special that represented his love of working with his hands and spending time with those closest to him.
Bob was a man who rarely sat still. Whether he was working on a vehicle, helping someone with a project, or simply spending time with loved ones, he always found a way to keep himself busy. He was proud to be part of the Pickett-Kirbey family and treasured the time he spent surrounded by his extended family, including Pickett and Hazel. Above all, Bob valued family, friendship, and the opportunity to help others. His generosity, hardworking nature, and willingness to lend a hand will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Lila Sites, and his siblings, Elmer, Woody, Kathy, and John “Herby.”
He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Mary Stewart; his stepmother, Carolyn Sites; his sons, Danny and wife Angela, and Mark; his siblings, Pete and Sherry; and his stepsiblings, June, Peggy, and Raymond. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Shelby, Danni Jo, Allison, Annie, and Brody; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
There will be a visitation on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm for friends and family to come and share stories of Robert's life. The family will have a private service at a later date.
