Sandra Kaye Teehee, born on April 17, 1971, in Claremore, Oklahoma. She passed away peacefully at home on July 11, 2026, surrounded by her family. Sandra's life was marked by her steadfast love for her family and a gentle strength that she shared with all who knew her.
She graduated Jay High School in 1989. Afterwards she worked at the Delaware County Friendship Home for 30+ years.
Sandra enjoyed drawing roses, coloring, making and collecting bracelets, and watching Walker, Texas Ranger. Her never-ending hobby was collecting "treasures." Her greatest joy came from spending time with her nieces and nephews, who lovingly knew her as the family's "mother hen" because of her caring and protective nature. She especially loved her Cinnamon, Pepsi, and Mountain Dew. Sandra treasured the memories she made at Beaty Creek. She was a member of the Cherokee Nation and proud to be an original member of the Keetoowah Society. In 2012, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and her faith remained an important part of her life. Her kindness, love, and compassion will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Sandra is survived by her sisters, Sharon Dawes of Tahlequah and Sondra Teehee-Smith of the home; her brother, Tom Teehee and his wife, Juanita of Jay ; and her "boy" Andy Teehee of the home, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John D. Teehee Sr. and Lydia Dawson-Teehee; her brothers, John D. Teehee Jr. and Mike Teehee; and her sister, Nora Jane Justice.
